In masterful coaching, we help our clients make powerful distinctions so that they can hone their own mastery. Distinctions help us ground into and face what is real and avoid the pitfalls of unconscious assumptions.
Coaching Case Study: I had a client who was locked into an assumptive pattern. He was assuming that his family had negative motivations against him. Through coaching, he was able to see the trees from the forest. He landed on the distinction that "hurting people, hurt people." He was able to clarify that his family's lack of emotional intelligence wasn't the truth of who they are, it is just where they were at (current state) and where they came from (family history of being emotionally disconnected). This distinction helped him drop the excess stories he harbored that kept him in reactivity. He was then able to open his heart to his family and drop unconscious expectations of them that kept him feeling disappointed and hurt. Today's resource helps us create another powerful distinction between confidence and arrogance. Confident or Arrogant? How to Tell the Difference and Why it Matters |
